Why is GDPR and this event important to attend:

 

  • GDPR is introduced in Ireland on 25th May 2018, if you, your staff or business holds any form of client DATA then you have an obligation to understand how that data should be used and stored to protect this information and avoid large fines and penalties.

Course content:

  • Revision of existing Data Protection regulation obligations.
  •  Outlining the Data Protection rights of individuals and the obligations of business to protect these rights.
  •  Identification of the key changes that impact the Data Protection obligations of your business.
  •  The key principle of customer consent, and how this will change under the new GDPR.
  •  Explanation of penalties and sanctions to business for non-compliance with GDPR.
  • The role of the Data Protection Officer in large organisations.
  •  Identification of enhanced Data Protection obligations – from both a Risk and Compliance perspective.
  •  Consideration of Industry-specific Data Protection considerations.
  •  Sensitive data, including medical and other information, and the obligations of the Hair & Beauty sector to ensure compliance in these areas.
  •  Key elements of a Data Audit.
  •  A worked example of an Action Plan to ensure timely compliance with the GDPR under a named heading, is provided and explained to participants as part of the course. This will address a significant element of GDPR preparation for Image Skillnet members, while providing a toolkit and template for further GDPR preparation.
