A brand-new skincare range is making its way to Ireland, promising more powerful treatments for sensitive skin and age-related skincare issues by working on the nerve-skin connection. The Arkana range of neurocosmetics launched this week with skin specialist Kelly Wallace, 30, recently securing the sole distribution rights in Ireland.
Limerick-based Wallace describes neurocosmetics as a ‘game-changer’ in skin treatment as they focus on the nerve-skin connection to deliver advanced and immediate skin results, along with a better sense of well-being.
As our environment and climate changes, placing larger stressors on our skin, Wallace found an increasing number of people seeking out more advanced treatment.
Post-lockdown she wanted to be able to offer people in Ireland something that would give exceptional results, while also helping to relieve stress.
“Neurocosmetics are a real game-changer and go beyond the limits of traditional cosmetics. Working on the nerve-skin connection they elicit feel-good chemicals that regulate inflammatory responses and prolong cell life,” says Wallace.
“Being able to incorporate a stress reliever with your daily skincare really appealed to me so, after researching the market, I came across Arkana neurocosmetics.”
“Arkana products are particularly suited to sensitive-prone Irish skin because they reduce the inflammatory response to produce visible and immediate anti-ageing and skin improvement without irritation.”
For salons and professionals, she says Arkana’s neurocosmetics are a great addition to their current skincare line, as they offer powerful results without the use and cost of machines. With Arkana, salons can also offer a complete homecare package to their clients.
Wallace points to some of the ingredients in the Arkana range that help deliver these results.
Designed specifically for hypersensitive and capillary skin, Arkana’s Neuro Sensi range of creams, serums and masks contains the SensAmone P5 peptide, which penetrates right down to the skin’s receptors in the epidermis and blocks the sensation of itching, burning and pain in sensitive skin.
In the anti-ageing range of creams serums and masks, Arkana’s Neuro Gaba centres around Gaba (also known as gamma-aminobutyric acid), a neuro-ingredient that eases the cells into a state of tranquillity forcing muscles to relax, as well as crow’s feet and frown lines. It also has anti-depressing and sleep inducing effect to give an overall sense of calm to the person applying it.
With pandemic restrictions easing Kelly is warning that a range of skin conditions are set to flare up as a myriad of factors leave the skin with a lot to deal with, creating the perfect environment for more severe cases of sensitivity, rosacea, redness and dryness.
Wallace is already seeing a 90% increase in people seeking treatment for skin sensitivity compared to the summer, with women aged 25 to 40 years old most affected. For dull and dry skin issues, she has witnessed a 40% increase in clients seeking treatment.
Wallace expects a surge in people seeking treatment for these issues in the coming weeks as our lives become busier with a return to workplaces, socialising and a drop in temperature.
“For people experiencing these symptoms I’d advise seeking out skincare products that treat the skin at a deeper level than over-the-counter products as they deliver noticeable, long-lasting results almost instantly,” adds Wallace.
Arkana skincare products will be available in salons nationwide in the coming months. For more information phone 083 3098435 or go to arkanaireland.com
