Rosettes/ Ruffles

Mirror Palais Collection IV SS23

Although the return of rosettes gives us severe nostalgia we must admit this 80’s styling choice is going to be one of the hottest trends of the year. At NYFW many different designers showcased the rosette in different forms, at Christian Siriano appliqués were front and centre. With rosettes down the sides of dresses, accentuated cut-outs and crowded together on wide-brimmed hats.

Balletcore

British Vogue

Dancers have always given inspiration to designers over the years but the recent resurgance in popularity of practice clothes and leotards has coined the term ‘balletcore’. It is not surprising since there has been such a rise in athleisure wear and with covid people are dressing more casually.

Maxi/skirts

Elle

Denim is an all-American classic go-to. So, it is no wonder that every season it is a favourite for designers on the runway and they find different ways to re-work it. This season it was all about the denim maxi skirt, the best ones just tracing the floor. They are an easy way of elongating the body.

Cargo pants

Popsugar

Originally rooted in utilitarianism they have had a high fashion makeover and make for a comfortable and practical style.
